Arizona Collision Discusses Necessary Maintenance on Vehicle for Summer Time
In case you needed a reminder from Arizona Collision, summer is here. And with the temperatures in the Valley showing little sign of any real relief (at least as far as we can tell), many people are preparing to skip town for cooler temperatures. Those unable to take an extended vacation somewhere the day temperatures don’t attempt to compete with an oven may instead be looking forward to a day spent tubing on the river, shipping the kids off to a summer camp, or even just a nice movie with loved ones in a cave-like theatre. These activities can make summer into one of the busiest times of year in terms of travel and scheduling.
However, in the midst of all these summer activities and a hectic schedule, Arizona Collision understands that it can be difficult to remember to have maintenance completed on your vehicle. We don’t blame you for putting it last on the list but who wants to have their summer vacation ruined by a preventable vehicle failure? Arizona Collision would like to not only gently remind you to get your vehicle checked out but we are also providing you with some of the top things to do before you head out of town for your summer adventures.
CHECK HOSES & BELTS FOR DETERIORATION
Changing temperatures and seasonal humidity can lead to some level of deterioration on your vehicle, especially the hoses and belts. When you bring in your vehicle for a checkup, technicians will check these items for any signs of damage, including loose connections, a brittle exterior, and leaks. Since hoses and belts are supposed to be firm yet flexible, they can easily begin to break down, develop cracks, and begin leaking fluids under the hood.
ENSURE A COMFORTABLE DRIVE
As the temperatures continue to rise, you will want to make sure that the features that make driving more comfortable are operating properly. Bring your vehicle into the Arizona Collision Center to ensure that the air conditioner is operating efficiently and to check if any additional upgrades may be needed. For example, when we check on the air conditioning unit in your vehicle, we will check a number of parts, such as the coolant, the thermostat, and make sure there are no leaks in any part of the system. It is also important to check the air filter and replace it either every 12,000 miles or when it becomes obviously dirty.
PREPARE FOR EXTENSIVE TRAVEL
If you are preparing to go on a road trip this summer, you will also want to have your tires and brakes checked at tire places near you to make sure they are ready for the long miles. When you bring your vehicle to Arizona Collision, we will check the tire pressure and the tread, as well as make recommendations for replacement or rotation. Additionally, if you notice any indicators that your brakes may require replacement–such as grinding sounds or the brake pedal feeling “off” in any way–we will gladly check on those for you as well to ensure you have safe travels this summer.
